Prairie Paws Animal Shelter inc. has served Ottawa and surrounding counties for over 60 years. We committed to saving lives of animals though adoption,foster care,spay and neuter programs and community outreach. PPAS promotes safe, healthy and caring relationships between people and animals in our community. Bella's Boutique
PPAS has a retail center located in our shelter. We have collars, leads,beds,crates,toys,treats and other items needed for your furry family member! All proceeds go to help the animals in our care.
Best Choice Labels

Kurandas Donate A Bed program enables individuals to donate beds to Prairie Paws Animal Shelter inc. at discounted prices.

We are now in our new building that is 80% funded. Monies in this fund will be used to continue to pay for our building loan we needed to fund the other 20%.

How We Got Our Start
Our Founder Beatrice Martin Peck began advocating for the welfare of Franklin County's homeless animals in the early 1940's and continued to do so until her death in 1967.
How We Got Our Start
Bea Martin Peck Animal Shelter building at 203 West 19th Street Ottawa Ks erected in 1948.
In 2010 a brand new state of the art building was built located at 3173 HWY K68 Ottawa Ks

Micro Chipping Service at PPAS
PPAS can MicroChip your pet !! Most of the dogs and nearly all of the cats entering our Shelter are without proper identification. This life saving process is aforable and easy to do and can make the difference of getting your pet back home!!

Have a FERAL CAT problem in your neighborhood? Call (785) 242-2967 to report the neighborhood so that it will be on the target list for the new PPAS T-N-R (Trap, Neuter, Release) program to begin in late spring.
